Dr Ian Robottom will introduce the postgraduate studies and educational cooperation at international level in Australian universities, taking Deakin University as one of the examples. He will also talk about the current GDUFS/Deakin postgraduate program that provides opportunities for GDUFS graduates to spend ten months in Australia completing an Australian Masters degree. The illustrated presentation will also outline the history and location of Deakin University, the nature of the program, options for accommodation and living costs, and opportunities for recreation and community engagement.

Dr Ian Robottomis Associate Dean (International) in the Faculty of Education at Deakin University. His career has spanned more than 30 years in Education. He has been particularly active as a researcher in international community-based environment-related projects. He has particular interests in participatory, community-based research, having been involved in projects of this type in Australia, South Africa, Scotland, Canada and Vietnam. In 2005 he won the North American Research Award for Outstanding Contributions to Research in Environmental Education. He has drawn extensively on these international projects in his teaching. He has published widely (over 100 publications) and has extensive international networks as a result of his project work.
